Length of animations vary depending on the goals of the animation. Standard range is generally between two and a half to four minutes, however our goal is to tailor the animation length to your specific needs.

Vision building: We begin by collaborating with you to understand and define your goals and target audience. We use these to create a plan of how we can communicate effectively through animation. Script writing: We combine your communication goals, the latest scientific research, and our approach towards effective storytelling into a narration script – the backbone of the animation. This script will undergo several rounds of revisions, both from our PhD-level scientists and from you, to meet your needs and desires. Storyboard creation: We create a detailed visual plan for the animation by combining the script with still images scenes and graphic overlays in a storyboard. Once again this will be revised from within Elucida’s team and from you, the client. Video production: We create, refine, and weave together all of the visual and auditory elements of the animation to produce a cohesive, stunning video. This undergoes final revisions to become the final product.

We assess your content and vision for the length first. From there, we build a narration script to fit that timeline (using the rate of around 120 words per minute), and tailor the rest of the animation to this script.

Yes, we can typically accommodate rush orders. They will have an increased cost that is dependent on the circumstances.

Yes, while we do recommend our experienced script writing services, our ultimate goal is to create your product the way you want it. Thus, we allow you to provide your own script, but we request the ability to tailor it for animation purposes.

Our costs are calculated based on the fixed costs of pre-production elements, such as the script, storyboard, voiceover and music, etc., and the length and complexity of the animation. Typical costs for one minute of animation range from $10,000 - $22,00 depending on the complexity of the animation

Animation: You (the client) owns full rights to the final animation video file (and any purchased still images) once complete. However, no source materials used to make the animation will be provided. In addition, we typically reserve the right to use the final animation video file for marketing and promotional purposes, but we can accommodate projects with confidential content.
