Our Process
We begin every project with an initial meeting, whether virtual or face-to-face in our research lab/studio in Beverly. Our team of PhD scientists works directly with you to understand your science, pain points, and desired outcomes. We do in-depth research to make sure every visual aligns with the most current scientific literature.
From there, we move through the phases of scriptwriting, storyboard, and animation, with client feedback and approval between each phase. By the end, you will have a visually engaging and scientifically correct animation that clearly and concisely communicates your message to your target audience.

◯ Stage 1
Project Brief
The medical animation process begins with the creation of a project brief. In this initial stage, the client's objectives, target audience, and key messages are defined. This phase sets the foundation for the entire project, outlining the scope, goals, and constraints.
◯ Stage 2
Research & Strategy
Once the project brief is established, the next step involves extensive research and planning. This includes gathering relevant medical information, understanding the scientific concepts, and identifying the most effective visual and narrative strategies. Thorough planning is crucial to ensure the accuracy and clarity of the animation.
◯ Stage 3
Script-writing
Once the research and concept development is completed, the script-writing stage begins. A well-crafted script is essential for conveying complex medical information in a concise and engaging manner. The script serves as the backbone of the animation, guiding the visuals and voiceover.
◯ Stage 4
Storyboarding
After the script is finalized and approved, our team works to develop a comprehensive storyboard. Storyboarding involves creating a sequence of images that outline the key scenes and transitions in the animation. It helps visualize how the information will be presented and ensures a smooth flow of content.
◯ Stage 5
Production
The production stage is when the storyboard concepts are brought to life. This phase includes modeling, texturing, animating, lighting, rendering, narrating, and compositing. Our stylistic goal is typically cinematic realism, as we translate scientific processes into beautiful, attention-grabbing animations.
◯ Stage 6
Delivery & Revisions
After the script, storyboard, and final delivery, client feedback is invited. Revisions are made at each of these stages to ensure time and cost efficiency. This iterative process also ensures that the final product aligns with the client's vision and effectively communicates the desired content.
